Bunnycat's Journal

Introduction - 25th February 2004

Merry Meet everyone, and welcome to my online journal. I'm Bunnycat (aka Ariadne de Berg - I'll answer to both names!). I dedicated into the Craft on Samhain 2003, after much thought about the fact that I'd probably always been a witch of sorts and it was about time I made it official!

I was raised with a huge respect for nature, and taken on long countryside/beach walks by my parents from the time I could walk. I was taught that a wild flower should never be picked, a bird's nest never disturbed and a tree never damaged, but that I should watch and learn from all these things.
With a house full of pets, I 'helped' with the arrival of kittens and puppies from an early age and learnt to respect and hold in awe the miracle of the cycle of life and death. Later on as a teenager, I discovered a knack for reading the tarot and would read for friends from time to time. I liked to make little 'lucky charms' for people and sit and visualise going on long walks and speaking to the animals and people that I met on those walks.I discovered I could bring luck and help to my friends by burning candles and thinking about the help they needed. And all this time, I never associated any of it with Witchcraft.

Then, last year, I was speaking to a work collegue about these things and she said she had some books I might be interested in borrowing. One of them was Kate West's 'Real Witches Handbook' and that was the moment that EVERYTHING fell into place and I began to understand who and what I really was. So many things now made sense, and I knew I wanted to dedicate myself into the Craft and start learning properly.
You're all invited to join me on my journey, which I shall begin documenting for you very soon. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have, about my experiences and I look forward to sharing them with you.

Blessings, Bunnycat
