Beltane Crystals

Spring is here and May 1st marks the sacred Sabbat of Beltane. This is a time where the Goddess and God have grown and come together to celebrate fruitfulness, fertility and good health. You could use this time to perform magic relevant to the themes of the season. Maybe you wish to increase fertility. You could use crystals such as green agate, pearls, amber, geodes and chrysophase. Generally, however, green stones are linked to fertility. Egg shaped stones are especially good for fertility magic.
Beltane is also a time for healing. Perhaps you might like to perform a spell to ensure good health. There is a whole host of stones used for healing, but you might like to pick something like fossilised wood, amethyst, hematite, carnelian or aventurine. Garnets and Jaspers are also frequently used.
If you wish to decorate your Altar with a few crystals for Beltane, you might like to use reds and yellows to symbolise the Beltane fire. Sunstones, sardonyx, tigers eye, citrine, garnet, red tourmaline, carnelian and red agates and jaspers are all suitable as their relative element is fire. You may choose to decorate the Altar with green stones for healing and fertility, in which case you might pick amazonite, emerald, chrysophase, aventurine, jade, green calcite, peridot or malachite.

Selenite

Selenite, named after the Moon Goddess Selene. It is a form of crystalline Gypsum. Most commonly found in a translucent white with a magical satin like shimmer which seems to lie just beneath the surface of the stone. It really is truly beautiful to behold. Selenite can also be found in blue, green and orange to orange brown. Selenite is a stone of reconciliation. It can be given between fraught couples to ease tension and aid resolution.
Selenite crystals
It is calming, clarifying and can ease a troubled mind. Selenite can also be used for divinatory purposes. A Selenite crystal ball would be excellent for scrying. It can also be used to increase psychic awareness and to aid telepathy.

Another virtue of Selenite is its nurturing, mothering properties. It can help with pregnancy and bread feeding. Finally, Selenite can be used to increase the flow of energy within the body and can help ease the discomfort of back problems. Selenite is a fragile stone and can crumble and splinter. The surface is very easily scratched. Never attempt to cleanse Selenite with salt as this greatly alters the appearance of the stone and leads the surface of the stone to become chalky. It is safest to cleanse this stone by smoke or moonlight.
