Prehnite
Prehnite is a stone of love and warmth. Often overlooked
for the more widespread Rose Quartz, Prehnite does
the job just as well. This is a vivid green stone
which is almost translucent, and is sometimes found
in yellow, white and occasionally brown. It
is a semi precious mineral and it of more that average
hardness.
|
Prehnite
is often used for decorative items and jewellery as its
luminescence really is a delight in itself! Prehnite is
a good stone to use during meditation and is also said
to allow one to opened oneself up to celestial energies.
Prehnite may also be helpful in opening the third eye
and increasing physic awareness. Prehnite can also be
used as a protective amulet and is a good crystal to utilise
in the garden. As a green stone and a loving stone, Prehnite
can help plants to grow healthy and strong. Scatter a
few stones around your garden or place in plant pots to
give your greenery an extra boost!
Over the past few Crystal Caverns I have been exploring
the magic of quartz and the stones in the quartz family,
here are another pair of quartz which have many uses and
properties.
Tourmilated
Quartz
Tourmilated
quartz really is a super lucky stone! Carry a piece
of smooth, empowered tourmalated quartz with you
during tests, exams, playing poker, you name it…
give this one a rub when you need a bit of good
luck and you won't be disappointed. |
 |
This is a very striking stone to behold; a clear quartz
with splinters of tourmaline streaking through it. This
gives rise to the binding of the properties of the two
types of crystal. It can be used for grounding and stabilising
and the combination of the light and dark makes it ideal
for creating a balance. Tourmalated quartz can also be
used for meditation and is sometimes utilised to encourage
out of body experiences.

Citrine
Another member of the quartz family, citrine is
a sunny yellow stone which ranges in colour from
palest light yellow to deep burnt golden yellow.
Citrine is a popular and easy to come by stone and
has many uses. One of citrine's uses is that it
helps to reduce negative emotions such as fear and
anxiety. |
This in
turn makes it an effective stone in preventing nightmares
and disturbed sleep. Charged citrine crystals can be used
to help fight phobias too. It is also used to help overcome
feelings of sorrow.
As yellow is the colour of creativity, citrine is useful
for artists and musicians or anyone who is looking for
inspiration. Citrine also is said to increase psychic
awareness and can be used in conjunction with divination.
Try circling a yellow candle with citrine crystals and
lighting during a tarot reading or whilst scrying.
