Garden Gems - June 2005

Summer is truly upon us! The sun is shining, the birds are singing and many people are enjoying their gardens, tending plants, growing herbs, removing pests. Many witches incorporate magic into their gardens. Crystals and Gemstones can also help! Even if your garden is a few pots on a windowsill, it could still benefit from a bit of crystal magic!

Crystals can aid the gardener in all sorts of ways, from increasing fertility, boosting health or even just for decoration. A few chunky rough rose quartz or amethyst rocks can add a really magical touch to any border, pot or trough. Even tiny crystal chips can be used around the base of plants in pots for an extra bit of colour. Hanging quartz crystals from tree branches will also give a witchy feel to a garden an also will throw beautiful rainbows across the garden when the sun shines on them.
Using Crystals In The Garden

There are other more practice uses for gems in the garden. Jade, for instance is excellent for the health of plants. Take four Jade stones and bury them around the perimeter of your garden to ensure a hearty garden.
Agate is also the gardener's friend. This stone has the ability to increase the fertility of plants and will help to ensure healthy flowers. If growing veggies, scatter some empowered agates carefully about your patch to enjoy a bountiful crop.
Using jade to ensure lush vibrant growth in the garden.
Garden friends. Malachite, moonstone, tourmaline, phrenite and agate. Tourmaline is a good garden all rounder. It also encourages growth and increases health and fertility. These stones can be used by burying them in the soil where the plant is growing. Tourmaline is also said to be a natural insecticide, so dotting a few amongst plants may help reduce garden nasties. Tin also discourages insects and is especially useful in the case of potted plants. Tourmaline is said to have a strong connection with nature spirits.
