The list of stones which are credited with these abilities are endless, but a few which are worth a mention are as follows:

Apache Tear

The Apache Tear is a form of smokey to jet black, merikanite obsidian. It is a globule of naturally formed volcanic glass. When they are held to the light they have a translucent appearance. These semi precious stones can range quite dramatically in size, from about the size of a pea, to larger than a tennis ball. They are sourced from Arizona in the U.S.A.
Apache Tear
The Legend of the Apache Tear - These unusual objects gain there name from a legend dating back to the 1870's, when a battle took place between around 75 Apache warriors and the United States cavalry. The cavalry drove the tribe up to the top of a mountain, Big Pacacho. The warriors fought bravely, but knew they were outnumbered. When all of their arrows were gone, and they could fight no more, rather than admit defeat, they rode their horses off the mountainside to their deaths. When the families heard of the tragedy, they wept. The Great Father heard their sorrowful cries and embedded the tears into the black rocks. When you hold an Apache tear to the light, you can see the Apache Maiden tear inside. Legend has it that one how owns a tear, will never weep again, as the maidens have shed their tears in place of yours.

As well as being a good luck charm, the tear also is said to bring comfort in times of grief and provide insight into the source of distress. It can also be used as a protective amulet.
