Lepidolite

Lepidolite is a form of purple / pink Mica, often displaying dashes of white, which can be found in Brazil, Russia, parts of the U.S.A. and Africa. It was first discovered in 1792. Its structure is plate like and it is quite brittle for this reason. Lepidolite should not be cleansed in salt or salt water. Due to its fragile structure, it is best cleansed in moonlight. Lepidolite is sometimes referred to as the "Peace Stone".
I like to call lepidolite the sleep stone. A while back now, I was having trouble sleeping. I had tried burning lavender flowers and placed its oil on my pillow, drank chamomile tea, but although I became drowsy, I could not drop off. I sought out a few stones renowned for their sleep inducing abilities and I put the stones I felt would work well together in a little purple pouch and put them under my pillow. I was left with a piece of lepidolite.....

I hadn't used this stone for anything other than decorating my altar for Ostara last year, so I thought I'd try it. I took a wide piece of silver ribbon, folded it in half and stitched it together to make a little pocket. I put the lepidolite in the pocket and tied it to my bed with a bit of silver thread. For me, it worked like a charm! Long after the other stones had fallen down the back of the bed, the little lepidolite pocket is still there, and when I am in bed, I rub it between my thumb and fore finger and it brings me a peaceful nights sleep.

Properties of Lepidolite

Lepidolite is a soothing stone. It is said to bring peace and calm.
Lepidolite can be used to reduce negative emotions, such as feelings of stress, anger, hatred and jealousy. It is also credited with the ability to ease feelings of depression.
Lepidolite can also be used in Love magic, and is said to attract romance. Cunningham cites Lepidolite as a spiritual stone, with the power to increase psychic awareness. He also explains that the power of Lepidolite is receptive, which means it can be used to absorb and attract, for example, in spells to bring sleep it could be used to absorb the negative energies which cause insomnia or it could be empowered to attract peaceful restful energies.
Lepidolite can also be used as a good luck charm. .
