Using
Crystals For Divination - May 2005
One
of the many uses for crystals is of course, divination.
For centuries witches and fortune tellers alike have gazed
into the depths of spheres made from different types of
crystal, often clear quartz, which is strongly associated
with psychic powers. Ancient runes are painted on small
crystals which can be cast and interpreted to foresee
future events and even smooth black pieces of obsidian
have been used to create beautiful scrying mirrors. There
are however, other ways in which crystals can be used
in relation to divination. Some crystals possess powers
which can aid divination itself, or unlock psychic impulses
and some even possess the power to induce prophetic dreams
and assist with dream recall.
Stones which are said to help which developing psychic
abilities include apatite and azurite, the latter of which
stimulates the third eye chakra and guides psychic development.
Apatite is said to be more of an inspirational stone which
can be used to inspire psychic experience, however, it
can also be used to develop psychic gifts. Other stones
which can be used to increase psychic abilities include
amethyst, which is linked with all things mystical and
is sometimes referred to as the magicians stone and citrine,
which facilitates psychic awareness. Other stones which
can also be used include purple fluorite, moonstone, lapis
lazuli and crystal quartz.
Simple Stone Divination
A really easy way to bring gem magic to your divination
is to use a method like this. What you will need is a
selection of stones, roughly the same size and a small
pouch to put them in. Each stone will take on its own
meaning based on its metaphysical properties and colour
correspondences. You can then use the stones to answer
questions, similar to how you might use witch stones or
runes. You may like to chose and interpret the stones
