"The
Ghosts She conjured howled then
To match the wind that moaned outside,
Her Witches crossed the Golden Moon
On brooms, above they ride!"

Samhain
Special - October 2005
Merry Meet and Welcome to the Crystal Cavern!
Summer has truly bid us farewell and autumn marches on.
For Witches this means one thing
.. Samhain is on its
way!
Samhain conjures up images of Ghosts, Besoms, bubbling Witches
brew and twinkling pumpkin lanterns. Altars will be dressed
in black, deep reds, burnt oranges and purples. The table
will be laid with apples, pumpkin dishes, meats and harvest
vegetables.
Like all the Sabbats, crystals and their magic can be incorporated
into the Samhain celebrations!
Divination
At Samhain the veil between worlds
is said to be at its thinnest. For this reason it
is an excellent time for Divination. Crystal gazing
is a popular Samhain activity. Traditionally quartz
crystal is used, but a flat obsidian palm stone or
a large smooth smokey quartz tumble stone can be just
as effective.

Another method divination which could be
performed is pendulum dowsing. Try using a pendulum made
from quartz crystal, amethyst or your favourite crystal!
First you must interpret the movements of the pendulum.
Ask your crystal "show me yes". Carefully observe its movement
and make a note of them. Next ask your crystal "show me
no". Again carefully watch and see your crystal's reply.
Finally, ask your crystal "show me I don't know", and as
before watch and make notes. When you have done this you
will be ready to begin. Once you have got the hang of pendulum
dowsing, you will find it an extremely useful tool to call
upon.
