Using Crystals for Protection in the Home.

Summer is winding down and as the wheel of the year turns, autumn is soon to be on its way. Our thoughts begin to turn from out of doors to hearth and home.

Crystal's have many uses in the home, one of which is protection. There is a huge spectrum of crystals which have protective qualities. Malachite, citrine, moonstone and obsidian can all be used for general protective purposes, but some stones lend themselves especially for the purpose of protecting our homes.

Selenite
Selenite

Selenite is one such stone. This stone, which is strongly linked to the Goddess, is a excellent choice for a guardian stone. Guardian stones are placed by the front and/or back door of the home to prevent negativity and dangers from entering.
Angelite

Placed in the home offers protection of a different kind. Angelite is connected with celestial energies and when used as a protective amulet, it promotes Angel guidance and guardianship.

If you wish to protect your home from crime then you should call on the powers of Sardonyx. Charge a handful of sardonyx tumble stones and place one at each window and external door in your home for protection from burglars.
Fossilised Wood
Fossilised Wood

If you want an all round home sentinel then you could try fossilised wood. This is one of my favourite stones of protection. I like to imagine all of the loving energies of a huge and ancient, powerful tree emanating from within the stone.
Other crystals and gems which can be utilised include black tourmaline, jaspers, lapis lazuli and agates. Take a handful of charged tumble of your chosen stone and place one in each room or alternatively, bury one in the earth at each corner of your property.

Holey stones, sometimes known as witch stones can also be used as a protection charm, if you are lucky enough to find one!!
