The Colours of Mabon
Mabon will soon be here, bringing with it its beautiful autumnal colours, burnt oranges, reds, browns and gold. When I decorate my Altar for Mabon I will include all of these shades and one of the ways I will do this is by using crystals and gems.
Carnelians are a great stone for Mabon Altars, along with red and yellow jasper, goldstone and citrine. Tigers eye are definitely one to use as they hold many of the Mabon colours.
As with Ostara, Mabon is an Equinox, a time of balance, where the day and night are equal; light and dark are parallel. Again, like at Ostara, you can represent this balance by using stones on the Altar, one dark, one light. This time I have decided to use Snow Quartz and Hematite. You could however, use the colours of Mabon, for example, a blood red garnet and a pale, golden citrine.
