Welcoming the Lord and Lady
I call upon me the Blessings of the Ancient Ones as merry
do we meet at this Springtime Rite.
Lady and Lord, hear your child (State Name), for I am here
to celebrate with you
and for you as we greet the Spring together.
(Sprinkle wild flowers deosil around inside perimeter of Circle)
Opening Prayer
The air is filled with harmony
Of plant and bloom and bud
Each egg foretells the birthing
Of peace, and joy and love.
Persephone emerges as winter falls away
Mother Earth rejoices - her daughters come to stay.
as days grow long and the nights are warm
The Goddess reigns supreme
Her power rises in my blood
I command all things unseen!
Magick symbols, knots and cords
Wand and staff and blade
Earth and water, fire and air
Become the Witch's trade.
I am the ground, the sea, the sky
The breezes springtime sweet
Gods and spirits dance the round
Within this circle meet.
Raising the cone of power
Walk slowly to your left round the circle chanting,
I conjure thee, O leaves of spring
Hyacinth and myrtle
Roses, lilacs, lavender
Black earth, warm and fertile.
Gifts of Gaia, Green Man rule
My wishes come to form
Good fortune roots within my world
Prosperity is born!
Ostara Meditation
Close your eyes and focus on your breath going in and out.
Relax.
As your breathing becomes deeper reach deep inside and visualise
yourself as a larva (butterfly) your thoughts and movements
are limited you attach yourself to the inner trunk. Soon a
silken thread emerges and you burrow into this cocoon and
suddenly find that you cannot fight the urge to have a long,
long deep sleep.
Connect.
Imagine now that you're floating in unlimited darkness, so
deep in unawareness that you feel you have no body, no will
and little thought process. You feel secure and loved, at
one with the creative powers of the universe.
You feel much warmer than you did when you went to sleep,
and you feel compelled to leave the cocoon in which you've
been so comfortable. As you move your body again, your amazed
at how much lighter, yet stronger it feels. As the dry cocoon
breaks apart you can see, through the opening of the tree
trunk, you see you are awakening into a world of warm breezes
and bright sunlight.
As you step off the cocoon you find yourself airborne, and
somehow this is not really a surprise. As you flutter from
the tree on your new wings, you see around you a world awash
in greenery and spring colours. Flowers are blooming, trees
are budding, and the sounds of creatures laughing and playing
fill your ears.
Play about on the breezes, travelling where you will and benevolent
spring spirits and faeries as you go. When you are ready to
return to your normal waking consciousness, visualize your
butterfly self flying toward your resting body, becoming more
dense the closer it gets, when the butterfly merges with you,
open your eyes.
