Your altar should be dressed to set the scene

Altar is dressed to set the scene.
Altar Cloth: Black, Altar Candles: Orange or Black. Decorate Altar with a choice of Small Pumpkins, Apples/Nuts, Fall Flowers & Leaves. Burn Patchouli or Myrrh Incense.
You will need parchment paper,an apple, black votive candle, white candle, patchouli oil & a sprig of heather or Lavender. (If you wish to use a different Oil and or incense it is entirely up to your own preference).

Casting the Circle / Calling the Quarters

North

I call upon Light and Earth at the North to illuminate and strengthen the Circle.

East

I call upon Light and Air at the East to illuminate and enliven the Circle.

South

I call upon Light and Fire at the South to illuminate and Warm the Circle.

West

I call upon Light and Water at the West to illuminate and Cleanse the Circle.

Raise Athame/Wand/Finger and stand in front of your altar and say

"I call upon the Old Gods, upon Hecate and Herne, upon Ceridwyn and Cernunnos, to be with me. To watch over me, to guard me, guide me and protect me during these my Rites".

"Tonight is the festival of Samhain, the greatest of the Sabbats in the Wheel of the Year. It is the end of the old year and the beginning of the new. Tonight is the first night of the resting season, when all that can be harvested has been gathered in. In times past these would be the supplies which would have to last until new life returns to the lane. All that would not survive would have been slain, and would provide the substance of my feast. From now the storms of Winter will be upon me, and the nights darken until the Sun is reborn again at Yule. It is a time for us to remember those who have gone before, who in the lost of the Old Ones we will meet and know and love once more. Tonight the Goddess takes on her robes as the Crone, and the God rides our to start the Wild Hunt. It is a time of cold and of darkness, a time for us to reflect, and a time to seek the knowledge and wisdom of the Wise One". Blessed Be.

Lower wand/athame and cast deosil (East, South, West, North, East) while remaining at the centre; envision blue light of energy shooting from wand/athame from the point to form the Circle boundary.

This is the boundary of the Circle, around me, through Earth & Sky, above me and below me as a sphere is the Circle cast and consecrated to the Lady and the Lord that they may work with and through Their child (state your name). This Circle is charged by the powers of the Ancient Ones! Only love shall enter and leave.

Return to Altar; and ring bell or clap hands 3 times touch point of athame in the salt and Say:

Salt is life and purifying. I bless this salt to be used in this sacred Circle by the Power of the Goddess and the God

Using tip of athame, drop 3 portions of salt into water; stir 3 times with blade and Say:

Let the blessed salt purify this water that it may be blessed to use in this sacred Circle. Through the Power of the Goddess and the God is this water cleansed.

Sprinkle blessed water deosil around the Circle and Say:

I consecrate this Circle by the Lady and the Lord. This Circle is conjured a Circle of Power that is purified and sealed. So Mote It Be!
