Moonshadow's Herbal
Oat Bath Scrub

Herbal Oat Bath Scrub

250g Fine Oatmeal
25g Rose Petals
35g Lemon Thyme
10g Orange Peel
Few Drops Orange, Lavender & Rose Essential Oils.
Muslin Bags or pieces of muslin and ribbon.

Note: The above quantities make enough to fill a litre jar. If you want to make more or less alter the quantities to suit.

Method: Either grind down some oats or buy a packet of fine oatmeal and put in a large bowl. Using a blender reduce the orange peel, 20g of the rose petals and the lemon thyme to a fine powder seperately and add to the bowl, and the 5g of whole rose petals then add the oils and stir well to blend the oils into the oat mixture. You can experiment with different herb/oil combinations if you like mixing roughly the same quantities.

To Use: Either fill a muslin bag so you have a pile of oat scrub about the size of a small orange and use in the bath or shower to wash the body. If you don't have any bags get a square or circle of muslin and place the mixture inside and tie up with ribbon, use the scrub as above.

Moonshadow's Herbal Bath Teas

Mix all the herbs together, in either small or large quantities, depending on how much you want to make. Take a bath sized amount and place into a circle of muslin or a drawstring bag made of muslin or cotton. Hang over the bath tap, run the water and soak! You could add the herb mix as is but be wraned, you'll come out covered in bitty bits that could get into places you'd prefer they didn't!

Tip - You can add a few drops of essential oil of your choice to these bath teas at the time of bathing.

Cardea's Lime & Ginger Salt Scrub

The quantities are approximate, I just add a drop of oil until it is right.

½ Cup Coarse Sea Salt
Jojoba Oil
Fresh Lime Peel - Finely grated, about the size of a 10p (cleanses and purifies)
Fresh Ginger Root - Finely grated about a third less than the lime (invigorates)
5 Drops Frangipani Oil (Moonshadows Blend)
2 Drops Neroli Light Oil

Mix all ingredients thoroughly. All you need is about a dessert spoon to do the whole body ( I definitely use more ) scrub gently over damp skin, or use as bath salts. It smells delicious....very exotic. I keep leftovers in the fridge because of the fresh ingredients but it may keep ok outside if it is in a cool dark place.

Tip - People with very sensitive skins may want to do a patch test first and should use fine sea salt instead of coarse. You can substitute orange, lemon or grapefruit peel for the lime if you fancy a change.

Moonshadow's 'Happy Me' Milk Bath

Here is a recipe for a bath that will soften your skin and make you feel relaxed.

100g Milk Powder
50g Honey
5 Drops Lavender Oil
5 Drops Geranium Oil
5 Drops Orange Oil

Mix the milk powder and honey together to make a paste, then add the essential oils and mix those in as well.
Add the bath milk to your running bath water and swirl with your hands until it fully dissolves. The lavender will tone your skin as the milk and honey soften it, and the smell of the orange oil will help relax you.

Tip - Substituting ginger and patchouli essential oils for the lavender and geranium will create a bath combination that is ideal for use prior to performing a money drawing ritual. Whilst substituting the orange oil for basil oil, when added to the geranium and lavender, will create a milk bath perfect for protection.
