Moonshadows
Meet Up
Ludlow Medieval Fayre
November 2006
|
November
25th 2006 started out rainy and cold, travelling down
in the car I thought that all our Meet Up's would be doomed
to be 'rainy' ones. However by the time we got to Ludlow
the rain had stopped. From left to right in the photo
above we have Moondust, Moonstorm, Whitewitch, Moonshadow
and Beowulf in front. Raven was also there but
he was taking the photo, we were also joined by Whitewitch's
hubby. Raven and I were a little late in arriving, so
whilst waiting for us to arrive the others looked around
the town and spent a goodly time in teashops.

The
Medieval
Fayre was in the grounds of Ludlow Castle which
stands close to the rivers Teme and Corve, Ludlow Castle
stands prominently on high ground, able to resist attack
from would be invaders from over the Welsh border. Stone
was readily available, being quarried from the castle's
own site, and water was obtained from a deep well - sunk
from what is now the Inner Bailey, down to the level of
the River Teme. To find out more about the history of this
place visit the Ludlow
Castle site

This
stall sold candles and weather vanes like the Witch one
in the photo. I have to say from my own observations Witch's
weren't viewed very kindly by folk at the event. A few stalls
were selling things to ward off Witches and to protect you
from Witch craft! I didn't see a single representation of
the village wise woman, there you go my niggle over and
yes I emailed the events organisers with my comments :) |
| I'm
not sure what was going on here but we all seem to be enjoying
some amusing moment? And no it wasn't because of my hat,
although it did raise a few eyebrows, not a very good picture
of it but it's rather fetching with it's devilish horns
and pointy tail! |

Whitewitch
grinning because she was near a sweetie stall! You can make
out her bump in this photo |
